Down

A colleague got on the elevator with me today.

Colleague: Are you going down?

Me: Yes. (PAUSE) Actually, from a mathematical perspective, my entire life is a downhill trend.

Colleague: Oh my! Is that a bad thing or a good thing?

Me: Neither – it just is. But I’m working on gaining a lot more velocity so that when I hit the bottom – SPLAT!! I might as well go out in spectacular fashion.
