End of the Island (島の端)
I contemplate the landscape around me.
The wind sweeps effortlessly through the grass like a new and dazzling romance in a city of lonely millions. I have also known romance. Yes, I have experienced that ecstasy which is far better than the drug of the same name – which I have also experienced. Then my eyes move slowly to the cactus plants which barely move in the strong, reckless wind. And I remember that romance can also sting and cut. Yet, I also know that it is worth every single moment. I may be damaged goods - but I know that.
